Do I need an extra battery for my revvi?
From my experience over the years working with kids electric bikes, my first answer when asked the question, "Do I need to buy an extra battery for my bike?" would be no! I don't think you do, to start with. as you will be surprised as to how long a standard battery will actually last. To keep the cost down of the initial purchase, I would always see how you get on with the first couple of rides.
Again in my own experience, we use the revvi alot for Sunday afternoon walks and bike rides around the local forest which can be anywhere from 2.5 to 7 miles and only coming close to running out of charge 3 times on the longer rides as long as the bike is fully charged before hand.
The only reason I have a spare battery is for those days when I forget to put one on charge or he is riding his bike a lot as the charge time on the revvi's is between 5-6 hours from empty and no one wants an impatient kid constantly asking if it ready yet or it ruining your plans for the day.
The battery ride time is very much down to the speed setting, rider weight and terrain. Its alot easier and quicker to just replace the battery with a spare.
Also, having a spare battery is particular handy during the school half term, summer holidays and weekends or when the bike becomes communal and every kid and his mate wants to have a ride.
Do I need an extra battery for my revvi 12 inch?
The 12" revvi comes with a 24v 2.6ah Lithium Ion Battery as standard with a 100w brushed motor. You will get an average ride time of 115mins of constant riding on the slow (5mph) speed setting and 40 mins on the fast (10mph) speed setting.
You can upgrade the battery to 24v 5.2ah or 24v 6.4ah. either one of these batteries won't give the bike any more speed but it will dramatically add to the ride time up to 60%.
Do I need an extra battery for my revvi 16 and 16 inch plus?
The revvi 16" & 16"+ both come with a 24v 5.2 ah Lithium Ion Battery as standard with a 250w brushless motor. You would look to get an average ride time of 115mins of constant riding on the slow (8mph) speed setting and 40 mins on the fast (15mph) speed setting.
You can up grade the battery to 24v 6.4ah for around a 15% gain in ride time.
Do I need an extra battery for my revvi 18 inch?
The revvi 18" comes with a 36v 5ah Lithium Ion Battery as standard with a 500w brushless motor. You would look to get an average ride time of 120 minutes of constant riding on the slow (9.5mph) speed setting, 45 minutes on the medium (13.5mph) speed setting and around 25 minutes on the Fast (20mph) speed setting.
At this moment in time there isn't a battery upgrade available for the 18" but you can buy a spare standard battery which will come in handy if you have a rider with more experience and likes to ride fast.
You'll be happy to know that the charge time of the 36v battery is only 70 mins.
